January Specials from Aesthetic Genesis

We are so ready for 2022, how about you?!

Liquid Rhinoplasty

If you have always wanted to address a bump on your nose, or desired a lift at the tip, but weren't ready for the permanent outcome of surgery, then Liquid Rhinoplasty might be for you.

Liquid Rhinoplasty, or a Liquid Nose Job, is done with filler and is a process that takes several visits to achieve and maintain the results. Dr. Daniela likes to see patients at least three times, a month apart. Once the desired result is achieved, it can last up to 12 months. This is a great option to decide if you are a candidate for permanent rhinoplasty surgery.

January Special: Liquid Rhinoplasty $1300 (reg. $1500)

Dr. Daniela feels so strongly about Liquid Rhinoplasty, she did it herself!
"I have always wanted to address that bump on the nose and the turned-down nose tip that got accentuated upon smiling."

Dynamic Facial Wrinkles Have Met Their Match!

We just added a new injectable to the menu and can’t wait to share it with you!

Introducing Revance RHA Filler

Revance RHA filler is the first and only FDA-approved Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler for dynamic facial wrinkles and folds. Dynamic wrinkles and folds appear in the areas of the face which move repetitively and is designed to adapt to your facial movement.

The formula, RHA, uses a gentle manufacturing process with very few chemical modifications that help to preserve the natural structure of the hyaluronic acid, which allows it to mimic the natural HA that is found in your skin.

This is a fabulous product that helps contour and creates a harmonizing filler that is flexible with the face and its natural movements. The goal is more about redirecting the skin rather than chasing the lines.

Note: There are a couple of different formulas and the price range depends on the concentration and thickness of the product.

It's never about perfection. It's all about proportion to achieve a harmonious overall look.

PRP Microneedling - AKA Vampire Facial

PRP-Microneedling.jpg

If you're dismayed by fine lines, rough texture, or you have other visible skin issues (i.e. scarring) PRP MicroNeedling can help enhance the quality of your skin through increased collagen production. Collagen production is stimulated when skin cell trauma occurs. During a MicroNeedling session, tiny, minuscule needles penetrate the upper layers of your skin. This causes your body to produce more collagen to heal those injuries to the skin.

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma and is your own blood that is drawn at the beginning of the session. Besides platelets, your blood also contains growth factors & active proteins that help with tissue & injury healing. The blood is spun in a centrifuge that separates the red & white blood cells from the plasma.

The platelet-rich plasma is then spread on the skin and then Dr. Daniela uses the MicroNeedling pen to begin the procedure.

This platelet-rich plasma enters the skin through the micro-injuries that the MicroNeedling pen makes and increased blood flow to the area begins the healing process of building collagen and elastin to repair the damage.

A numbing cream is used prior to the procedure, and once your skin is numb all you feel is the pressure of the pen.

Downtime: 5-7 days with most of the redness in the 24 hours immediately following the treatment.

Benefits of PRP MicroNeedling include:

  • Reduction of fine lines & wrinkles

  • Reduction in the appearance of age spots & hyperpigmentation secondary to deeper absorption of products, like lightening creams

  • Tightening & toning of the skin

  • Smoothing of acne & general scars

Restore Facial Volume with Sculptra Aesthetic

Sculptra is a biostimulator utilized to fill volume deficiencies in a way that restores broad areas of lost facial volume. It works by stimulating the formation of new collagen in the skin, adding volume over time. Results are gradual and a series of treatments is usually recommended.

The upside is that the collagen produced in response to Sculptra, is all your own body’s work! It’s all you, Boo!

The downside is that results are gradual and are seen 6 weeks after each session.

What if you’d like to see results before then and still would like the longer term benefits of Sculptra? We can layer it with a hyaluronic acid filler, such as Restylane.

How about a Kysse?

The FDA has recently approved a new, longer-lasting, lip filler from Galderma, and we have it!

Restylane Kysse is a brand new hyaluronic acid filler that is designed especially for the lips. It's made with a unique cross-linking formula that balances the fillers' structure & flexibility which perfectly suits the delicate & mobile area of the mouth. The filler particles are smaller than other Restylane fillers, which makes it less prone to lumps & palpability. It's also longer lasting - individual response may vary.

Restylane Kysse also contains 0.3% lidocaine to reduce pain during injection. It is injected into the lips & the lines around the upper lip to temporarily add fullness to the lips and help smooth the wrinkles around the upper lip.

Sunscreen & Skin Health

Sunscreen.jpg

WHAT ARE SUNSCREENS?

Sunscreens prevent the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) radiation from reaching the skin. Two types of ultraviolet radiation, UVA and UVB, damage the skin and increase the risk of skin cancer.

UVB causes sunburn, while UVA rays, which penetrate the skin more deeply, are involved with wrinkling, leathering, sagging, and other effects of photoaging. They also exacerbate the carcinogenic effects of UVB rays, and increasingly are being seen as a cause of skin cancer on their own. Sunscreens vary in their ability to protect against UVA and UVB.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor and is a measure of a sunscreen’s ability to prevent UVB from damaging the skin. For instance, if it takes 20 minutes for unprotected (without sunscreen) skin to start turning red, using an SPF 15 sunscreen prevents reddening of the skin 15 times longer — about five hours.

In order to maximize the effectiveness of your sunscreen, take the following factors under consideration:

First, no sunscreen, regardless of strength, should be expected to stay effective longer than two hours without reapplication. Second, “reddening” of the skin is a reaction to UVB rays alone and tells you little about what UVA damage you may be getting. Plenty of damage can take place without the red flag of sunburn being raised.
What to look for:

Broad-spectrum sunscreen is recommended because it offers protection against both UVA and UVB rays. If you spend a lot of time outdoors, you need stronger, water-resistant, beachwear-type sunscreen that holds together on your skin. The “water resistant” and “very water resistant” types are also good for hot days or while playing sports, because they’re less likely to drip into your eyes. And remember, sunscreen must be reapplied every two hours for maximum protection. Unprotected sun exposure increases the chances of developing skin cancer as well as expedites skin aging.

Sunscreens should be applied 30 minutes before sun exposure to allow the ingredients to fully bind to the skin. Reapplication of sunscreen is just as important as putting it on in the first place, so reapply the same amount every two hours. Sunscreens should be reapplied immediately after swimming, towelling off, or sweating a great deal.

COMMON MYTHS:

Wearing sunscreen can cause vitamin D deficiency:

There is some controversy regarding this issue, however, no studies have shown that sunscreens cause vitamin D deficiency. Furthermore, vitamin D is available in dietary supplements and foods such as salmon and eggs, as well as enriched milk and orange juice.

If it’s cold or cloudy outside, you don’t need sunscreen:
This is not true. Up to 40 percent of the sun’s ultraviolet radiation reaches the earth on a completely cloudy day. This misperception often leads to the most serious sunburns, because people spend all day outdoors with no protection from the sun.
Enjoy your summer and take care of your best asset: YOU!
